Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Service Strategy and Planning
- Develop and communicate a clear service strategy, outlining objectives, scope, and goals specific to data management and analytics.
- Align the service strategy with the organization's overarching business and IT objectives to maximize value creation.
2. Service Design and Development
- Define the service portfolio, encompassing service offerings, service levels, and service catalog items tailored to data management and analytics needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and develop the service, ensuring it meets user requirements and adheres to quality standards.
3. Service Delivery and Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery and operation of data services, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
- Proactively monitor service performance and take necessary measures to drive continuous improvement in data service operations.
4. Service Ownership and Accountability
- Act as the primary point of contact and accountable owner for data services, taking responsibility for their overall performance and effectiveness.
- Define and enforce service-related policies, standards, and procedures to uphold service quality and integrity.
5. Service Governance and Compliance
- Ensure that data services comply with relevant industry regulations and internal policies, particularly focusing on data governance and security.
- Manage data service risks and compliance requirements effectively to mitigate potential impacts on organizational operations.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers and vendors, to gather and prioritize user feedback and requirements.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure alignment of data services with evolving business needs and expectations.
7. Service Improvement
- Continuously identify opportunities for service improvement and optimization, leveraging feedback and performance analysis.
- Drive enhancements and innovations in data services to address evolving user requirements and technological advancements.
8. Financial Management
- Manage the budget and financial aspects of data services, optimizing costs and resource allocation to maximize value delivery.
- Ensure efficient financial management practices to support the sustainability and growth of data services.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Technology).
- ITIL or relevant service management certification is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years in service management or related roles, with a focus on data management and analytics.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and owning IT services, particularly within data domains.
- Strong understanding of service management frameworks and best practices.
- Expertise in managing cloud data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, etc.).
- Skills in data warehousing, ETL processes, and real-time analytics.
- Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and lineage within cloud environments.
- Experience with machine learning tools and data science platforms.
- Understanding of industry-specific data compliance and security requirements.
