Responsibilities
Material Purchasing and Delivery
- Procurement: Purchase materials to ensure timely delivery, correct quantity, and alignment with the production schedule.
- Planning: Develop delivery schedules based on anticipated consumption and production needs.
- Coordination: Distribute reports to purchasers for self-checking, discuss pending jobs and POs, and resolve bottlenecks with department heads.
- Supplier Development: Lead efforts to improve supplier delivery performance, focusing on both short-term and long-term improvements.
- Internal Coordination: Collaborate with internal, external, and logistics teams to ensure timely material receipt for shipments.
- Support: Assist management and operations with purchasing systems and processes.
- Oversight: Manage daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Team Leadership: Lead Purchasing and Inventory teams to achieve established KPIs and targets.
- Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Supply Monitoring: Monitor material and equipment supply requirements to meet operational needs.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify new opportunities and manage company spending while focusing on material delivery improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance purchasing and inventory control processes to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
Material Management
- PO Management: Oversee material purchase orders (POs) and tracking, including FIFO control, inventory reduction, and lean manufacturing.
- Shipment Control: Follow up on material import shipments and local suppliers to support production schedules.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks assigned by the Material Management Manager, collaborating closely with other departments to achieve objectives and KPIs.
Supplier Delivery Control
- Coordination: Ensure timely delivery of materials from both import and local suppliers.
- Shortage Prevention: Prevent material shortages in production lines.
- Corrective Actions: Implement corrective and preventive actions for supplier delivery issues, including risk assessments.
Education
- Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Material Engineering, Material Management, or related fields. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Languages
- Mandatory: Fluent in English.
- Additional: Proficiency in any other language is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to ensure on-time delivery.
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding of supply chain and material management processes.
- Communication and Negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to follow up on deliveries and track materials.
- Order System Knowledge: Experience in entering purchase orders, PR/PO management, and using purchasing systems.
- BOM Analysis: Ability to analyze Bills of Material (BOM) and drawings to understand key requirements.
- Industry Experience: Experience in purchasing and material planning within manufacturing, air conditioning, or automotive sectors is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office, Oracle, Excel (including macros), PowerPoint, MS Teams, and conducting online meetings.
- Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel on short notice and visit/audit suppliers as needed.
