• We are currently looking for an Environment and Community Coordinator to lead environmental operations at our Lake Macquarie based site – Newstan.

Reporting to the General Manager Environmental Social Governance, your responsibilities will include

• Leading operational environmental activities to minimise environmental impact
• Maintaining legislative compliance with environmental licensing and statutory requirements
• Management of mine site rehabilitation operations
• Developing plans, preparing documents, and reporting and facilitating government approval processes
• Leading and mentoring a team of environmental professionals and supporting continued development and training
• Maintaining focus on continued improvement and best practice strategies

Suitable candidates will have

• Tertiary Environmental Science qualifications
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in an underground coal mining environment or an associated government department
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of State and Federal environmental legislation
• Exceptional report writing and data analysis skills
• Commitment to site safety and operational best practice
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Sound computer literacy skills
