Reporting to the General Manager Environmental Social Governance, your responsibilities will include
- Leading operational environmental activities to minimise environmental impact
- Maintaining legislative compliance with environmental licensing and statutory requirements
- Management of mine site rehabilitation operations
- Developing plans, preparing documents, and reporting and facilitating government approval processes
- Leading and mentoring a team of environmental professionals and supporting continued development and training
- Maintaining focus on continued improvement and best practice strategies
Suitable candidates will have
- Tertiary Environmental Science qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working in an underground coal mining environment or an associated government department
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of State and Federal environmental legislation
- Exceptional report writing and data analysis skills
- Commitment to site safety and operational best practice
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sound computer literacy skills
