Senior Manager, Observability

Responsibilities

• Defining, delivering, managing monitoring & observability platform, standards, and practices.
• Collaborate with Development teams to implement system improvements.
• Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security requirement, applications, software, and hardware.
• Analyze department needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to advise business decisions.
• Continuously analyze current processes, technologies, and resources to identify areas of improvement.
• Analyzes complex systems, including designing, evaluating, and implementing software-based solutions for infrastructure / site monitoring of availability, latency, performance telemetry; as well as solutions for capacity planning, change management, emergency response planning, and efficiency.
• Work under direction of leadership, detailing the technical requirements and specifications necessary to obtain and implement solutions.

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Expertise with implementing and maintain Log management such as SyslogNG, ELK, Splunk.
• Expertise with implementing and maintaining various Monitoring/Observability platforms such as DataDog, BigPanda.
• Expertise with implementing, configuring, and testing Monitoring and/or Observability platform.
• Expertise with CI/CD development pipeline such as GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub, or similar development tools.
• Experience operating, designing, and building large scale, enterprise/production grade systems.
• Experience with Agile practices and tooling such as Daily standup, Retrospective, Kanban, Scrum, Jira.
