Analyst

Responsibilities

Actively conduct research and analysis on various types of funds under coverage. Formulate short-term and long-term investment views for funds under coverage. Participate in the formulation of expected returns and risks, and be able to construct asset allocation plans by utilizing the funds under coverage. Participate in development of new funds. Liaise with other departments and distributors for internal meetings and marketing activities.

1. Conduct research and analysis on various types of mutual funds and master funds under coverage.
2. Be able to formulate short-term trading opportunities and long-term investment views for the mutual funds and master funds under coverage, and be able to communicate effectively to internal colleagues and external clients in written research reports.
3. Participate in the formulation of expected returns and risks for various asset classes and funds, and be able to construct asset allocation plans utilizing the funds under coverage.
4. Conduct an analysis of the short-listed funds, and provide a recommendation for new funds to be launched.
5. Maintain analysis of existing fund performances, and be able to recommend a review when the fund's performance has fallen behind competitors.
6. Prepare related meeting materials, including presentation slides, and other client requests.

Qualifications

• Analyst License
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder or a clear progress toward the designation is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of a variety of financial instruments in various asset classes, as well as possessing business acumen, analytical abilities, and a total return mentality
• Must be a broad strategic thinker and demonstrate understanding of economic and investment theories.
• Possess the ability to quickly make an analysis in an environment with incomplete sets of information by exercising independent judgement, and be able to manage client needs and establish priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work efficiently under a dynamic business environment
• Ability to comfortably use English as a means of communication within a global company
