Senior HSSE Advisor - Project Operations

Key Accountabilities

• Provide on-ground HSSE support to ensure safe operations at various locations, focusing on managing critical risks in port and terminal operations.
• Ensure all personnel adhere to DP World standards by regularly assessing compliance with global HSSE requirements.
• Support onboarding of new operations, emphasizing HSSE policies and conducting training to build a strong safety culture.
• Promote safety as a core value, engaging with employees at all levels to reinforce the company’s commitment to a zero-incident workplace.
• Coach supervisors and management to integrate a safety-first mindset into their operations, leading by example.
• Provide an escalation pathway of key risks and offer expert guidance on improvements.
• Report independently on HSSE performance, highlighting both risks and successes, and keep senior leadership informed.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior HSSE role, preferably within the ports, terminals, or heavy industry sector.
• Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive cultural change.
• Proven experience in implementing HSSE management systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering clear and concise messages to various stakeholders.
• Strong internal customer relationship skills, maintaining credibility and trust.
• Must be willing to travel extensively and be prepared for deployment to various Southeast Asia countries for 3-6 months, depending on operational requirements.
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working in different Southeast Asia countries and familiarity with local safety regulations and cultural considerations.
• Multilingual skills are a plus, particularly proficiency in languages commonly spoken in Southeast Asia.
