Qualifications
- Degree in Food Sciences or equivalent. Master degree is an added advantage
- At least 8 years of solid R&D experience in a leadership capacity in the food manufacturing industry
- Good knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSSC22000, HALAL, MUI HALAL, and local regulatory requirements in the markets supply by ASEAN
- Business and financial acumen
- Big picture thinking, collaborative interactions, and strategic relationships with stakeholders
- Excellent influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels in a highly diverse and multicultural environment
- Proactive, independent, analytical, and strong collaborations with others
- Project management skills
- Capability in MS Office
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Responsibilities
New Product Development and Reformulation
- Lead R&D for a product category (e.g. Confectionery (Pocky), Confectionery (Chocolate & Biscuit), or Ice Cream/Health & Wellness) to realize the product development plan of R&D Center ASEAN.
- Develop and manage fórmulas by utilizing and exploring raw materials in compliance with related laws and regulatory requirements including Halal (CICOT and MUI).
- Create prototypes and analyze consumer research results to meet consumer expectations.
- Manage fórmula approval and document management such as ingredient lists, nutrition facts, fórmula sheets, manufacturing standards, production process standards, etc.
Manufacturing Capability Support
- Enabler for product category manufacturing and OEM capabilities, raw materials rationalization and optimization, etc.
- Establish manufacturing/production conditions for new/renewal product implementation. Ensure and stabilize the production of new and/or improved products in partnership with manufacturing facilities in Thailand, Indonesia, and OEMs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to improve production efficiency (e.g. loss reduction).
Implement Technical Research Results
- Implement new innovations from technical research results including clinical studies for health claims and evidence to develop technology seeds to feed into product pipeline.
Others
- Engage and support team members. Ensure open and effective communication at all times.
- Leverage R&D Academy to build functional and leadership capability for all positions to develop a talent pipeline.
- Lead team in driving productivity and seek continuous improvement and resource optimization.
