The opportunity
FleishmanHillard’s Bangkok office has an immediate opportunity for Media Relations Specialist. In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with top Bangkok media, work closely with the client services team, and put your solid research, writing, client management skills to use. Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Review/assess industry trends to identify opportunities to inject FH’s clients into current news cycles; drive story idea development, work closely with traditional and online media to shape and control communications that are in line with overall account objectives.
- Help manage integrated corporate communications programs that encompass media and influencer relations, digital communications, social media strategy and mobile marketing.
- Build, manage and maintain strong relationship with key media (both online & offline) and influencer
- Provide consultation and support to client service team on media and influencer related topic.
- Secure strategic media placements according to client’s communications plan
- Identify ‘new media’ opportunities to support client and enhance agency’s database
- Develop and update the media and influencer database
- Respond to daily media inquiries and communication-related issues in a timely manner and professional manner that relates to client
- Track, monitor, and analyze media coverage performances
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact and manage work streams and teams on program implementation.
- Develop high-quality written materials, including press releases; pitch letters, background materials, planning documents, and executive communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- 3-4 years' experience working in a Media Relations role or in Public Relations
- Experienced in communication/PR agency is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of top-tier business and trade media, and well-developed-skills in building and maintaining traditional and digital media relationships. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required.
- Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across the client’s business, and deliver connective insights to assist clients in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives. Candidate should have experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Superior writing skills, with the ability to develop and edit high-quality materials such as press kit materials, position papers, fact sheets, news and online media materials, bylined articles, trend analysis summaries, executive correspondence, and presentations to pitch with journalist members both online and offline.
- Excellent organization skills, highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong working knowledge of a variety of public relations programs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
