Main purpose of the role:

• Strategic direction: Assist the Group SHE Director in defining Groupwide SHE competency frameworks / requirements, and laying out roadmap to ensure employees across Thai Union operating facilities (both SHE and non-SHE personnel) meet the required SHE knowledge and competency levels.
• Best-in-class occupational Safety, Health and Environment training: Design and roll-out up-to-date and comprehensive training programs and communications materials across all plants / offices, working with SHE BU compliance leads as needed to adapt materials to country or BU-specific needs.

Key accountabilities:

1. Strategic direction

• Support Group SHE Director in defining Groupwide SHE competency requirements / frameworks, and laying out roadmap to ensure employees across Thai Union operating facilities have sufficient SHE knowledge and competency levels.
• Work with SHE BU Compliance Leads and Plant SHE Managers to monitor training or certification completion rates, identify key capability gaps and execute appropriate interventions.

2. Best-in-class occupational safety and health training

2.1 Material and program development

• Design and work with SHE BU Compliance Leads and Plant SHE Managers to roll-out comprehensive and fit-for-purpose Occupational Safety & Health and Environmental training programs.
• Collaborate with SHE Technical Leads to ensure coverage of best-in-class practices in all training modules.
• Collaborate with SHE BU Compliance Leads and Plant SHE teams to tailor training programs to BU / plant-specific standards and regulations.
• Design and implement Train-the-trainer programs for Plant SHE teams to effectively deliver training programs and communications messages to other plant teams.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by establishing feedback loops and revise materials for continuous improvement.

2.2 Regulatory compliance

• Partner with Group SHE Technical Leads to monitor changes in global and local regulations relating to Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental manufacturing practices.
• Collaborate with Group SHE Technical Leads to ensure that latest regulatory and industry requirements, and external best practices are incorporated into SHE training curriculum and materials.
• Submit and ensure approval of training materials from government agencies in a timely manner as needed, and manage periodic renewal processes.
• Submit and ensure permit required to operate / conduct SHE training from government agencies in a timely manner as needed, and manage periodic renewal processes.
• Ensure relevant personnel in Thai Union maintain required certification to deliver government approved training programs.

3. Training execution

• Work with BU Compliance Leads and Plant SHE Managers to plan and coordinate training schedules across plants / offices globally to ensure that relevant employees receive timely and appropriate SHE training.
• Conduct select Safety & Health and Environmental Training programs as relevant.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with plant-level SHE teams regarding training program schedules and content updates.

4. Other operations

• Evaluate training program content and delivery effectiveness through KPI performance and feedback loops, making improvements as needed.
• Create process / system and collaborate with Plant SHE Managers to maintain detailed training completion / certification records of all plant employees.
• Manage operations of TUF Training Center to service all BUs in Thailand.

Desired candidate profile:

• Strong proficiency in relevant general and country-specific occupational Safety & Health and Environmental regulations and standards.
• Instructional experience and expertise in designing and delivering effective training programs.
• Knowledge on implementation & operation of digital training platforms to scale-up training.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to oversee coordination of multiple training programs, resources, schedules and priorities etc. with Group SHE colleagues and key Manufacturing stakeholders globally.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with external agencies and collaborate across cross-functional teams in Thai Union.
• Proficient in English.
