Operational Data Lead - Air & Ocean

What you’ll be doing

Operational Data Objects:

• Develop and maintain clear definitions, terminologies, and business rules for operational data objects (e.g., charge codes, status codes, package codes, incoterms, port codes, etc.).
• Ensure documentation is accessible and understandable by key stakeholders.
• Ensure data objects are regularly updated to reflect the latest business requirements in A&O Operations.
• Work closely with key stakeholders such as Product teams (Air & Ocean), finance, sales and master data management to ensure seamless execution of data projects and initiatives.
• Represent the operational data management perspective in cross-functional meetings and discussions.
• Collaborate with Master Data Management (IT) to implement updates and changes within TMS and relevant applications. o Serve as the primary point of contact for data object-related issues and requests to OET

Training and Support:

• Utilize BI reporting tools to monitor the usage of core data objects.
• Identify areas for improvement or training needs based on data usage analysis.
• Develop training materials for structure and logic of data objects.
• Provide ongoing support to ensure operation’s adherence to data object logic and high data entry quality.

Data Quality Assurance:

• Regularly review data quality reports and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify & assess quality issues in a timely manner, building up corrective action plans to data quality independently of data definition, logic, and entry.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation & Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, data stewardship, or a related role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
• Proficiency in systems such as CargoWise, SilverBullet, Oracle, and Descartes etc. is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of master data structures and operational data management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in managing data-related projects and initiatives.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management. Strategic and innovative mindset
• Ability to multi-task in an intense, fast-paced, and high-energy environment
