Medical Underwriter

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Own, review and update underwriting guidelines for all types of policies in line with company direction and targets – especially on A&H
• Collaborate with relevant team to solve internal problem such as IT team, Claim team, Direct marketing team, sale team and operation team
• Set up and maintain the Underwriting manual and Underwriting workflow
• Prepare periodic reports and analysis to update management on underwriting performance
• Participate in internal / external meetings for UW related matters
• Manage underwriter to perform underwriting appropriately and delivery underwriting decision under service level agreement
• Underwrite and assessment risk the complicated case or over authority from Underwriting team members but within authorization of company
• Provide Underwriting expertise and service to A&H department
• Provide training and coaching for Underwriting view to relevant team
• Give suggestion pertaining to the improvement of the existing product, system and procedure for Underwriting
• Participating in new product design and policy wording / application / health questions
• Implement and execute Underwriting Guideline and communicate with relevant authority for the risk with Maximum Sum Assured and Underwriting Guideline
• Operate, Manage and Conduct UAT testing for Underwriting system
• Support Company project and Strategy and improvement process project

Qualifications

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree of Administration, Insurance or Nurse or in any related field.
• Minimum 3 years in the insurance company as Underwriting.
• Minimum 3 years in the insurance company as Medical Underwriting
• Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and medical is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English & Thai.
• Good computer literacy, Microsoft word, PowerPoint and especially excel.
• Supervisory skills including delegating tasks/authorities, provide guidance, personnel management.
