Lead Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software applications
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Maintain high standards of coding while applying the best practices where appropriate.
• Ensure the quality and performance of the your work through participating in code reviews and testing
• Translate end user needs to requirements using a lightweight agile design led methodology.
• Supply towards design work and planning for user stories.
• Executes on the delivery of given tasks, delegating to the team where applicable.
• Builds trusting relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team.
• Communicates with clarity and precision in a concise format.
• Working both independently and collaboratively within a team in an agile fashion.
• Analysis, design and implementation of complex software solutions using customer focused design driven methodologies, delivered via public cloud.
• Building domain expertise in Financial market content and LSEG systems.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• 4 years+ experience as a Software Developer or equivalent.
• Diploma / Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science / or equivalent experience.
• Skills and experience developing web applications in Javascript, Typescript, Python or other relevant languages.
• Skills and experience with web servers and databases (e.g. DynamoDB, RDBMS, Elasticsearch).
• Skills and experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS.
• Experience developing and deploying containerised environments (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilising infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible).
• Experience with front-end development frameworks (React, NextJS or Angular, etc.)
• Critical thinking, value judgment and common sense over process.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Positive attitude to learning new skills and technologies.
