Landside Operations Director - Thailand

Key Accountabilities

• Oversee daily operations to ensure the smooth handling and transfer of cargo. Lead the landside operations teams, including coordinators, logistics supervisors, and support staff to ensure seamless integration, customer satisfaction and movement of cargo.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for landside operations to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Develop long-term strategies for landside and barge operations to support business growth and operational efficiency. Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve landside operations.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices to keep the terminal at the forefront of operational excellence.
• Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for landside operations. Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all landside operations comply with local, national, and international safety regulations. Develop and implement safety training programs for all landside staff.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and ensure high levels of service. Address and resolve any customer issues or complaints related to landside operations. Work with DP World commercial teams to develop and implement customer service strategies.
• Manage the allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel and equipment. Develop and manage the landside operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources to achieve financial targets.
• Provide leadership and create a rewarding team-based culture, including mentorship and development of staff. Conduct regular performance reviews with team members and provide coaching and feedback.
• Identify training and development needs for landside operations staff. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Leverage technology to improve landside operations efficiency and effectiveness. Implement advanced logistics and transportation management systems. Stay updated with technological advancements and integrate relevant technologies into operations

Qualifications, Experience and skills

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in port operations, logistics, or a similar industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• High resilience, excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to landside operations.
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
