Responsibilities:
Sourcing Strategy & Supplier Selection:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for manufacturing components and materials to meet production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and lead-time expectations.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure suppliers align with product specifications and standards.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Cost Optimization & Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions for materials and components.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing market trends, alternative sourcing options, and process improvements.
- Develop and manage cost models and budgets to ensure sourcing goals align with financial targets.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Work closely with procurement, inventory management, and production planning teams to ensure smooth integration of sourced materials into the supply chain.
- Monitor and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including potential disruptions, quality issues, and lead-time delays.
- Implement contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead or support cross-functional teams in continuous improvement initiatives related to sourcing processes, supplier performance, and cost reduction.
- Stay informed of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in sourcing and manufacturing.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure that all sourcing activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and sustainability goals.
- Provide regular reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, Six Sigma) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings.
- Experience with sourcing materials and components for complex products or assemblies.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement software, ERP systems, and supply chain management tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and value creation.
- Experience in the [specific industry, e.g., Garment, Textiles] is a plus.
- Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
- Proficiency in languages or international sourcing experience is a plus.
- Full-time position with occasional travel to supplier locations.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required due to time zone differences with global suppliers.
