Key Responsibilities:
Legal Strategy & Management:
- Develop and implement the legal strategy aligned with the company's business goals.
- Lead and manage the legal department, including internal counsel and external legal resources.
- Provide legal advice to the Board of Directors, senior management, and other departments on legal risks, business strategies, and regulatory requirements.
Real Estate Transactions:
- Oversee and manage all legal aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases, financings, and development projects.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of real estate agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, and construction contracts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable real estate laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the real estate industry and advise the company on necessary actions to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and represent the company in legal and regulatory matters.
- Develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
Corporate Governance & Risk Management:
- Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring the company’s operations are conducted in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
- Identify potential legal risks and implement risk management strategies to protect the company’s interests.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong background in commercial real estate transactions.
- Significant experience in a senior legal role, ideally within the real estate industry or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and leading legal teams.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate law, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
