Conduct independent research and provide inputs to reports and analyses produced by the RC office, with a particular focus on sustainable agricultural development, climate action, and disaster risk management;
Support the development and updating of databases and other information management activities;
Support the UNCT and UN RCO in achieving their annual monitoring and reporting requirements, through the UNINFO platform;
Attend relevant capacity development initiatives, training, and meetings, and provide briefing materials. Competencies
Sound research, data analysis, and data management skills, familiarity with core economic and sustainable development concepts;
Excellent drafting skills in English;
Ability to provide high-quality policy notes, and briefs on thematic topics;
Experience of MsOffice environment and common web-based ICT tools;
Knowledge of the UN system and its mandate would be considered an asset;
Familiarity/previous experience in the geopolitical and development context of North East Asia, especially the Korean Peninsula would be considered an asset. PLEASE NOTE: The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member.
Qualifications/special Skills
Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, international development studies, international relations, or other relevant fields. Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:
be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) Competencies

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English is required for the Internship Programme. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
