Digital Process Innovation Assistant Manager - Ocean & Customs
Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence & Digital Enhancement
Assist the Digital Process Innovation Manager in executing digital initiatives and driving operational improvements across relevant domains.
Act as a domain lead for global processes, system solutions, and related operational data within the assigned area.
Guide Master Data Management on domain-specific operational data, excluding cross-domain and corporate-level data.
Lead or co-lead process optimization and system enhancement projects aimed at improving performance, scalability, and efficiency.
Develop, implement, and maintain global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure process standardization, compliance, and efficiency.
Identify optimal system features and capabilities to support business and operational requirements.
Define and monitor key performance indicators that drive operational excellence and a superior customer experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with business stakeholders to align digital strategies and process improvements with operational and customer needs.
Work closely with the Operational Excellence team to incorporate country-specific requirements and address rollout gaps.
Coordinate with the Master Data team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity in domain-specific data integration across applications.
Collaborate with IT project managers and developers to prioritize, steer, and track system module enhancements that meet business objectives.
Define the data sources and objects necessary for effective process execution within the domain.
Project & Change Management
Support the lifecycle management of system enhancement projects, including the creation, tracking, and oversight of Jira tickets.
Step into the Manager's responsibilities as needed to ensure continuity of leadership and initiative execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Customs Brokerage or 5+ years in operational and managerial roles within air and ocean freight forwarding, with a strong emphasis on quality and process management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured approach to complex challenges.
Strategic thinking with the ability to balance internal operational efficiency and external customer needs.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
Results-driven, highly accountable, and committed to continuous improvement.
Experience in regional or global team collaboration, with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
Resilience under pressure, with the confidence and professionalism to lead by example.
Proficient in English; additional languages are considered an asset
