The Data Analyst – Ocean Freight establishes and maintains a data-driven procurement framework to support decision-making. This role ensures accountability, measurable results, and strategic insights for Global Ocean Product Teams, optimizing performance, carrier strategy, and trade lane adherence. Additionally, the analyst develops and maintains Ocean Product campaigns to drive profitability sustainably.

Ocean Product Business Intelligence
- Lead the development of reports in Qlik Sense (QS), Power BI, and other BI tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Identify new data sources and visualization methods to enhance analytical insights.
- Work with business partners to define key metrics, reports, and analyses.
- Conduct root cause analysis for data quality issues and implement corrective actions with Operational Excellence and BI Teams.
- Establish structured reporting frameworks to align with Global Ocean Product strategy.
Dashboard Maintenance
- Maintain and enhance dashboards for accurate and standardized reporting.
- Ensure the dashboards are intuitive, updating manuals for user clarity.
- Train Ocean Product Teams on report interpretation and usage.
- Collaborate with Global Ocean Teams to generate insightful reports for strategic decision-making.
Campaign Support
- Manage Ocean incentive campaigns, ensuring data accuracy and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor campaign performance, identify improvements, and implement enhancements.
- Propose new trade lanes for campaigns, providing strategic rationale and execution plans.
Ocean Product Budgets
- Lead annual budget planning for FCL and LCL products with Global Ocean Product Teams.
- Analyze historical data to develop strategic growth assumptions for regions and countries.
- Align targets with P&L owners and commercial stakeholders to ensure consensus-based goal setting.
Project Assignments
- Support special projects/initiatives as directed by the Head of Strategy or VP - Global Ocean Freight
What skills & experience you'll bring to us
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Science, or Engineering.
- 2-5 years of ocean procurement experience; freight forwarding, or ocean carrier background preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, KNIME, Python, etc.), statistical methods, and visualization platforms (Qlik Sense, Power BI, etc.).
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic mindset with a deep understanding of business insights and data performance.
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of freight forwarding industry trends.
- Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and manage cross-functional, multicultural teams.
- Results-driven, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
