Get to know the team
The Regional Sustainability Team is responsible for managing the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) impact for Grab. As a regional function, your work will cover Grab as an ecosystem - this includes global offices, 8 operating markets and Group-level entities. The team is responsible for planning & strategy, impact measurement, process excellence, internal & external stakeholder engagement (including pubilc and private sector), programme management, and subject matter expertise for ESG-related matters. Grab is an MSCI ESG ‘AA’-rated company.

The Day-to-Day Activities
This role will cover either (dependant on candidate’s experience and expertise);
- Decarbonisation
- Waste Circular Economy
With the main function as;
- Subject matter expert
- Develop and implement comprehensive accounting methodologies and systems to accurately measure Grab's environmental impact.
- Monitor and report progress such as energy consumption, waste generation, and other relevant environmental metrics.
- Analyze data and identify areas for improvement, keeping us on track towards targets and support in developing strategies to achieve them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into decision-making processes and explore opportunities for solutions at scale through data and technology.
- Processes and Methodology:
- Implement and improve seamless processes and automation, for measuring environmental impact within Grab's operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Environmental Impact Reduction::
- Collaborate with business units to develop impact reduction strategies, and serve as a subject matter expert.
- Support cross-functional Implementation and tracking performance of environmental initiatives
- Promote environmentally-friendly practices and behaviors among Grab employees and stakeholders.
- Budget Management and Program Planning:
- Track allocated budgets for environmental initiatives
- Support in the development and implementation of environmental programs, including goal setting, planning, and execution.
Qualifications
The Must-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Communications, Analytics or related field.
- Proven experience in carbon accounting, environmental management or sustainability in a corporate or consultancy setting.
- Strong understanding of reporting methodologies, sustainability standards and principles, as well as environmental regulations.
- Proficient knowledge of data analysis and data communication
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change.
- Effective communicator capable of delivering a clear, concise and consistent message, both verbally and in writing.
