VP, Regional Programs - Asia Pacific
Responsibilities / Duties
Complexity & Problem Solving:
Oversees workforce planning and staffing models, considering multiple and interrelated initiatives. Leads strategic problem-solving by evaluating abstract ideas and intangible variables to identify fundamental issues and provide innovative solutions. Contributes to change management for business and process improvements, aligning regional objectives with organizational strategic goals. Coordinates regional budget analysis, forecasts, and progress reviews. Decisions and actions significantly impact management and regional/corporate operations, supporting the organization’s business strategies and achieving long-term goals.
Discretion & Impact:
Provides strategic leadership and oversight for all organizational operations in the assigned portfolio, advancing broader company strategies through effective award execution. Translates strategic goals into multi-departmental objectives, ensuring strong financial stewardship and compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Works with staff to identify, manage, and mitigate organizational and program risks, ensuring programmatic and technical quality and funder/client satisfaction. Meets award targets for revenue and on-time and on-budget project completion. Provides learning through program data and knowledge sharing. Erroneous decisions could significantly impact the company's success over five years or longer.
Collaboration & Interaction:
Establishes, serves, and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders within the assigned portfolio to achieve strategic goals. Interacts with internal and external executive-level management, negotiating critical matters and influencing policymaking. Participates in global fora to share global lessons and maintain FHI 360’s leadership reputation. Engages with donors to secure continued funding for awards and collaborates with Business Development and Partnerships (BD&P) to support regional/subregional growth strategies. Contributes to new business development and Bid Board discussions/decisions, oversees systems

Management & Supervision:
Oversees a region through directors and managers, ensuring successful operations. Guides teams in developing new methods and addressing company-wide issues. Supports performance management and professional development of direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support. Fosters a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone benefits from opportunity, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging. Sets goals and budgets for projects and leads the region in achieving strategic goals. Leads coordination of resources for ongoing projects across functional areas, addressing and resolving project issues. Manages Portfolio Directors, Project Directors, and support teams, ensuring the successful operation of their assigned areas. Reports to the SVP, US and Regional Programs and oversees the activities of various departments within their region, driving innovation and solutions across the company.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, and practices of project management process development and program execution. Demonstrated management skills in organizational management, financial planning, and personnel management. Experience with financial and contractual management of USAID contracts and cooperative agreements. Extensive leadership, change management, and project management skills. Superior public relations and diplomacy skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to plan, organize, and manage resources for successful project completion. Experienced in motivating, influencing, and collaborating with others, demonstrating sensitivity in diverse, cross-cultural settings. Strong financial and human resources management skills, providing strategic vision and direction to the region, and implementing company-wide policies and practices.
