Transportation Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management:
- Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of drivers and assemblers, ensuring they are fully trained according to Thai traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular training sessions and refreshers for drivers and assemblers on local regulations, company procedures, and customer service standards.
- Monitor the performance of drivers and assemblers, providing feedback, coaching, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain high standards of performance and compliance with Thai law.
2. Operational Planning:
- Plan and coordinate daily transport operations within Thailand, ensuring that all deliveries and assemblies are completed efficiently, legally, and on time.
- Develop and implement route plans that comply with local traffic laws, maximize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with the Route Optimization Analyst to continuously refine and improve route plans considering Thailand’s traffic conditions and geography.
3. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all drivers and assemblers adhere to Thai traffic laws, company safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to speed limits and traffic rules.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with Thai safety standards.
- Handle accident investigations in compliance with Thai law, report findings to senior management, and implement corrective actions as needed.
4. Customer Service:
- Ensure that drivers and assemblers provide high-quality customer service during deliveries and assemblies, maintaining a positive brand image in Thailand.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to transport and assembly services promptly and in compliance with local consumer protection laws.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all transport operations, including vehicle maintenance logs, driver and assembler training records, route plans, and incident reports, in compliance with Thai regulations.
- Generate regular reports for senior management on transport operations, highlighting key metrics such as delivery times, fleet utilization, and team performance, while ensuring all reports meet local regulatory requirements.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance team performance within the context of Thailand’s logistics landscape.
- Stay updated on Thai industry trends, local regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies in logistics and transport management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transport management, logistics, or a related role.
- Proven experience in managing a team, with strong leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of Thailand’s traffic laws, logistics operations, and regulatory requirements is essential.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, both in Thai and English.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid Thai driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- On-Time Delivery Rate: Percentage of deliveries completed on time within Thailand.
- Fleet Utilization Rate: Efficiency in the use of the vehicle fleet in compliance with Thai laws.
- Driver and Assembler Performance: Metrics related to the productivity, safety, and customer service provided by the team.
- Cost Efficiency: Control of operational costs, including fuel/energy consumption and vehicle maintenance, considering local market conditions.
