Be capable of assisting Project Managers and Project Directors.
Assist the Project Management team in developing project control systems for inclusion in a Project Execution Plan.
Assist the Project Management team in reporting to the client.
Draft project programmes as directed by the Line Manager and monitor the project in line with those programmes.
Monitor projects costs in line with the approved budget.
Manage key projects issues as directed by the Line Manager.
Assist the Project Management team in the management of consultants and contractors.
Assist the Project Management team in the development and maintenance of risk registers.
Assist the Project Management team in the delivery of contract administration services, as appropriate to the commission.
Assist in managing the projects change control process.
Assist in the preparation of a detailed program for the implementation of the project. Monitor and report on actual performance compared with plan.
Liaise with local authorities as required to ensure that the works are authorised as the project progresses.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Ensure that a system of quality assurance is in place to ensure the production of the highest quality of work in design construction & administration.
Attend project meetings as required and write, issue and control minutes of meetings.
Person Specification
BA degree in engineering or Business administration
Appreciation of project management.
Technical qualification in project management or another technical profession, PMP certified is a plus.
A minimum of five years’ technical expertise and experience gained in a construction project of multi-location retail sites, with basic knowledge in technical systems.
Good technical writing skills and knowledge of reading drawings and tender documents, etc
Good client-facing and communication skills, ability to build long-term relationships.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in both spoken and written English
High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, self-starting, well-disciplined and commercially astute
