Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the development of electrical installation engineering documents, including cable tray layouts, cable schedules, and 3D models.
• Coordinate with engineers and Project Managers (PMs) involved in the project.
• Provide technical specifications and criteria for cable calculations.
• Define main cable routing from the main substation to downstream systems and final loads.
• Design electrical equipment layouts, including electrical panels and control stations, and create 3D models.
• Develop cable tray layouts and 3D models.
• Prepare cable schedules and interconnection tables.
• Design supporting frames for electrical panels.
• Detail the installation of electrical systems, including cable trays, conduits, and electrical device connections.
• Provide a bill of materials (BOM).
• Analyze input documentation, clarify incomplete information, and solve problems.
• Check and verify engineering documentation, such as BOMs and drawings.
• Advise junior engineers on the best electrical technical solutions for installation engineering.

Technical Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in electrical design and installation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design and installation work, including electrical equipment, cable trays, and conduits.
• Proficiency in MS-Office, AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks, and 3D software (PDMS or AVEVA preferred).
• Familiarity with international standards such as IEC and NEC.
• Knowledge of steel-making plants is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work on-site.

Soft Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical design and installation processes.
• Proficiency in MS-Office, AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks, and 3D software (PDMS or AVEVA preferred).
• Familiarity with international standards like IEC and NEC.
• Knowledge of steel-making plants is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English.
