Assist with project management of the approvals processes, including advice on statutory planning and environmental approvals, assisting with stakeholder engagement, co-ordination of specialist technical and environmental assessments, including management of consultants and contractors
Preparation, co-ordination, and review of project approvals documentation for project modifications or consultant prepared Environmental Impact Assessments
Assist Approvals team to liaise with Government Agencies/Regulators and other external stakeholders and the community
Develop and maintain positive relationships with landowners, neighbours, local communities, and project stakeholders for designated approvals projects
Suitable candidates will possess
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Statutory or Environmental Planning, Environmental Management, or similar discipline
Minimum 2 years’ planning or environmental experience
Previous experience in mining, renewables, heavy industry, land development or similar
Ability to prepare written environmental management plans, technical reports, and correspondence to external stakeholders
Strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and best practice
Familiarity with Commonwealth and NSW environmental and planning legislation and their application to mining, renewables and land development projects
Strong computer literacy and MS Office skills
Ability to work independently, manage own workload and problem solve
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Working knowledge and previous experience with GIS and AutoCAD systems may be advantageous
