What You’ll Do

As our Packaging Development Technologist, your key responsibilities will include:

• End-to-End Packaging Development – Support the development and qualification of packaging design and materials, including concept development, prototyping, technical risk assessment, line trials, commissioning, and validation.
• Technical Documentation – Prepare packaging specifications, key line drawings, and qualification test reports while ensuring compliance with MARS packaging standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and co-manufacturers to drive packaging innovation and resolve technical challenges.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance – Ensure all packaging developments align with MARS Product and Packaging Quality requirements, regulatory standards, and cost targets.
• Sustainability & Cost Optimization – Partner with suppliers and commercial teams to identify and implement packaging material harmonization and reduction projects to minimize environmental impact, complexity, and PRIME Packaging costs.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who has:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (preferably in Packaging Technology).
• 2+ years of experience in packaging development (FMCG or food packaging industry preferred). New graduates are also welcome to apply!
• Technical expertise in various packaging materials and formats, such as laminated bags, retort pouches, plastic cups, aluminium & metal cans, display cartons, and corrugated shippers.
• Experience leading the implementation of regional-scope packaging design solutions.
• Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
• A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and solve complex challenges.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
