Responsible for the implementation of the Group’s tax strategy and policies in Thailand (including tax controls) and close supervision of the Thai entities to ensure compliance.
Lead and manage Thai tax-related (including BOI and Customs) compliance process improvements of the Thai entities and work with the support of external advisors as appropriate.
Support the Thai business operations and management teams by evaluating issues and providing practical, tax-efficient and tax-compliant solutions.
Monitor Thai entities’ tax compliance requirements / status and complete the quarterly tax reporting for the HQ / OTCOE organization.
Keep abreast of the new Thai tax related regulations, tax rulings and tax incentive or grant schemes (e.g. BOI) and provide evaluations on their relevance and impact to the internal stakeholders (e.g. OTCOE APAC head or the Thai finance or business teams).
Lead or support Thai tax health check projects or tax audits initiated by the tax authorities, with the support of external tax advisors or internal tax resources as appropriate.
Manage the Thai entities’ relationship with tax authorities and other relevant government agencies in Thailand.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, tax or other business field.
At least 10 years of experience in tax - experience with a Big4 firm and/or in-house MNC is an added advantage.
Detail-oriented and a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to communicate tax technical issues, especially with non-tax professionals.
Good command of English both written and spoken. Ability to communicate in Mandarin is also an added advantage.
