Management of the staff of the legal and compliance team, sharing knowledge and training, and delegation of tasks as appropriate.
Supervising external counsels and advisors, as necessary.
Negotiation, review, revision, and drafting of all contracts relevant to the companies’ operations, including but not limited to reinsurance agreements, brokerage agreements, investment agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and licensing agreements.
Ensuring that contracts are revised and renewed promptly, and that legal and compliance tasks are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
Serving as DPO of the group, or supervising the DPO in his/her duties.
Updating and reviewing the OIC and PDPA compliance gap analysis on a regular basis to ensure that relevant parties are aware of any new regulations or in-compliance, ensuring that all regulatorily required reports and actions are completed in a timely manner.
Informing relevant parties of any legal and regulatory changes relevant to the group.
Researching any laws relevant to the companies’ operations, investment, or development needs.
Maintaining and organizing legal documents of the company for the purposes of disclosures for legal due diligence.
Providing legal and compliance advice to management to ensure informed decision making.
Participating in any committees of the companies as appropriate.
Contributing and advising on internal and operational audit efforts, including serving as a focal point for the companies’ annual operational audit and certifications.
Proposing improvement to the compliance framework and contract management system.
Liaising with relevant external parties, including government authorities, and serving as the group’s contact person with the OIC.
Litigating or defending any matter on behalf of the companies.
Reporting to the Group Legal and Compliance Manager, country manager, and/or the CEO on any legal or compliance topics which require executive decision, keeping them informed of the company’s legal and compliance status.
Drafting minutes of country board meetings and other committee meetings, including the employee’s welfare committee.

Requirements
LL.B. or higher with excellent academic credentials.
License to practice Thai law.
Having not less than 5 years of experience in the Thai insurance industry and compliance with OIC regulations, whether with a leading law firm or in-house for an insurance company in Thailand.
Excellent command of legal and business English and Thai, ability to communicate clearly, whether verbally or in writing.
Excellent management skills, high level of independence, critical thinking, and decision making.
Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
Available to travel upcountry from time to time, at the employer’s expense.
