Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the product testing discipline on the team
• Ensure that the product quality is measured and monitored and is accountable for demonstrating measurable improvements
• Write clear and concise manual test scripts and execute them
• Communicate product quality and test results to different stakeholders
• Coordinate testing activities with the leadership team, product/project management and development to ensure delivery timelines satisfy business needs
• Help improve team’s efficiency and balance workload against deadlines and limitations
• Review product requirements and design documents and adhere to implementation schedules to deliver products that meets agreed-upon quality standards and design expectations
• Develop and maintain automation framework for web and mobile applications
• Set the strategy for testing on all related features, enhancements and bug fixes
• Create, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases
• Accurately assess risk level of code changes, and calibrate the testing approach as needed

  Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field is preferred
• 2+ years of experience writing and executing manual test scripts
• 2+ years of experience in working in an agile and continuous delivery environment.
• 1+ years of experience with Selenium, Robot framework or other similar web automation testing frameworks
• Previous experience with Agile Methodology such as Scrum or Kanban
• Strong SQL skills and previous experience with databases (specifically MySQL and Postgres, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be self-driven.
• Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, humility and an acute focus on detail and process

  Preferred Qualifications

• Keen understanding of managing test data to achieve repeatability in test results
• Ability to mentor/teach new team members the system functionality and assist in on-boarding.
• Great team player – need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment with different stakeholders including engineers, testers, product managers, and user experience leads
• Leads and Participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Debugs data issues between and within systems.
• Experience in looking at and analyzing system logs to assist in triaging issues
• Proven ability to work under rapid development cycles with medium to large teams to achieve a common goal
