Education and Experience
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, plus 3 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
- OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with 1 year of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales Opportunities
- Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure that sales efforts are well-coordinated, complementary, and not duplicative.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with both existing and new customers to facilitate future bookings through activities such as sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows.
- Develops relationships within the community to enhance and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
- Manages and nurtures relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides accurate, complete, and effective turnover to Event Management.
Managing Sales Activities
- Participates in sales calls with sales team members to acquire new business and/or close deals.
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals, writing contracts, and managing customer correspondence.
Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue
- Identifies new business opportunities to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
- Understands the overall market, including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and uses this knowledge to sell effectively.
- Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
- Gains an understanding of the location’s primary target customer and their service expectations, serving them by understanding their business issues and concerns to offer better business solutions.
