Acting as member of corporate EHS Team, the Global Machinery Safety expert will provide expert support and oversight in Jabil divisions and sites to drive Machinery related procedures, programs, processes, and systems that help the enterprise achieve zero injuries and illnesses, zero environmental incidents and zero non-conformances within Machinery lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Jabil Machinery Safety Program:
Support site with Machinery Safety program fulfilment. Help sites integrate machinery safety industry good practices to operation and production processes such as Change management, Preventive & Predicative maintenance, governance program to ensure machinery are safe during lifecycle.
Support site with appropriate Machinery Risk assessment performing to identify hazards related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Analyze machine components, operational events, and environmental factors that could lead to hazardous conditions. Suggest risk reduction methods to decrease risk to acceptable level
Engage sites follow 3 steps risk reduction approach: avoid/design through inherently safe design, reduce by engineering control, inform users with residual risks
Provide support to divisional EHS team and sites for implementation and technical difficulties upon request.
Compliance & Documentation:
Provides interpretation of technical machinery safety matters and relevant legal/customer requirements that have global impact at the enterprise
Help site drive machinery and equipment compliance with Jabil Machinery Safety expectations, relevant safety consensus standards, directives, and regulations
Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and action plans on safety assessments and recommendations.
Safety Design & Implementation:
Actively participate in design reviews for new and existing machinery, integrating safety features from the early stages based on site requests.
Help site develop safety concepts and safety-related control systems to mitigate identified risks and achieve required performance levels.
Advise on safety requirements for modifications, machine integration, and the "safe state" of machinery for personnel intervention.
Training, Site support & Guidance:
Provide expert advice on machinery safety regulations and best practices to cross-functional teams.
Develop and deliver training programs on machinery safety for employees at various levels.
Continuous Improvement & Governance:
Stay updated on the latest developments in machinery safety standards, regulations, and technologies.
Participate in corporate EHS assessment and other governance projects.
Review Machinery-related incidents, Near misses and suggest preventive solution for sites
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
General Qualifications & Knowledge
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; a team orientation, as well as the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels (executives, managers, and non-managerial), within and outside the organization.
Project management experience.
Training & development experience.
Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity, and responsibility.
Experience working for labor intensive industry is preferred.
Experience working in Asia, EU and US is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Knowledge of EHS technical requirements and best practice requirements in a multinational manufacturing environment.
Experience in managing regulatory requirements for one or more sites.
Technical Expertise & Education :
A blend of technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, safety and machinery build principle. Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering or Safety fields
Functional Safety expert, CMSE, CMSP preferable
Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of relevant machinery safety ISO consensus standards. Knowledge of European and/or OSHA directive and law will be advantage.
Risk Analysis:
Ability to perform detailed machinery hazard and risk analyses using methodologies defined in standards like ISO 12100 or equal
Problem-Solving:
Skill in developing practical and actionable safety solutions for new and existing machinery.
Collaboration & Communication:
Ability to work effectively with engineers, operations teams, and management to integrate safety into designs and processes.
