Business Analyst Manager (E-commerce)

As a EC BI Business Analyst Lead, you lead a team of strong Business Intelligence and data enthusiasts.

You would be knowledgeable about the ecommerce metrics, FMCG channels and analytics required to support functional areas of the business. Scoping out projects through strong project management, business process mapping, process improvement, reporting & analytics, communication, organization and time management is critical for this role to positively impact the EC business.

You will be responsible for creating business impact through the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, process improvements, project management and through strong collaboration with our EC, Offline business and Marketing team. In this pivotal role you work closely with colleagues from multiple departments across all functional levels and you have exposure to both local as well as regional management teams.

Data Analytics & Insights

• Define KPIs: Establish and track critical metrics to measure business performance across e-commerce functions.

• Data Cleansing: Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure data integrity and reliability.

• Data Analysis: Perform statistical analysis and data modeling to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies that impact business outcomes.

• Data Interpretation: Provide clear insights by interpreting data across various business areas and translating findings into actionable business decisions.

• Provide Actionable Insights: Deliver relevant and actionable recommendations to business leaders and teams to drive business growth.

Reporting & Dashboards

• Create Dashboards & Reports: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports to monitor performance and track business metrics.

• Tailor Reports for BU: Customize reports for specific departments to meet their unique data and analytical needs.

• Storytelling with Data: Present complex data in a simplified manner through storytelling, making it easy for stakeholders to understand key takeaways.

• Automate Reports: Develop and implement solutions to automate recurring reports, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of information.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business users, particularly from EC Commerce Local & EC Regional and Marketing teams, to understand data needs and provide relevant insights.

• Business development: Collaborate with Sales Managers and Marketing to develop business growth plans for the Official Store and C2C customers.  Propose strategies for developing sales, offtake at 2 main platforms Shopee and Tiktok.

• Support Data-Driven Decision Making: Empower stakeholders to make data-backed decisions by providing accurate and timely data analysis.

• Data Compliance: Ensure that data used in reports and analysis complies with industry regulations and internal governance policies.

• Data Consistency: Maintain data consistency across systems and reports to ensure uniformity and accuracy in decision-making.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives to improve data collection systems and overall BI processes.

• Budget management: Coordinate Plan-Do-Check activities for EC and C2C programs. Evaluate budget efficiency based on KPIs and data analysis

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead a BI Team: Guide and mentor your team to enhance their skills, improve performance, and contribute effectively to business goals.

• Training & Empowerment: Coach business users on how to leverage BI tools and best practices, enabling them to access and analyze data independently.

• Documentation: Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and results to ensure consistency and transparency.

Skills & Experience:

Required

• Experience: 4+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analytics role, ideally within an e-commerce or high-growth start-up environment.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.

  • Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets or Python skills for data analysis and reporting.

  • Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and analytical tools.

• Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of e-commerce operations, demand planning, product analytics, and digital marketing metrics.

• Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights and clear recommendations.

• Collaboration & Communication: Strong understanding of sales channels in FMCG (both online and offline); ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, plan, and execute supporting activities.

• Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred

• Knowledge of the e-commerce business landscape in ASEAN markets.

• Experience in competitor analysis and market research.

• Expertise in building and managing dashboards using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
