Plant Science (M.Sc.)
Course Overview
This two-year, research-focused Master of Science (Thesis) provides advanced study and training in plant science. You’ll complete specialized coursework tailored to your area of research, with topics covering plant breeding, physiology, genetics, pathology, ecology, and molecular biology. A major component of the program is conducting original research and writing a thesis under the supervision of experienced faculty.
Students can also choose unique options like the Bioinformatics stream, which combines plant science with computational methods, or the Neotropical Environment option, which includes research and fieldwork in Latin American ecosystems such as Panama.
What You'll Learn
Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in key areas of plant science.
Hands-on research experience through a thesis project, supported by faculty and research committees.
Opportunities to work with cutting-edge facilities, including advanced greenhouses, genome-editing labs, imaging and phenomics platforms, pest-control labs, and herbarium collections.
The chance to specialize further through unique interdisciplinary tracks such as bioinformatics or tropical fieldwork.
A solid foundation for careers in research, academia, industry, or government.
