Today, Jobcadu will introduce everyone to the 16 Personality Factor (16PF), which is a systematically developed personality test recognized in psychology. So, what is the origin of this test, and what personality traits does it encompass? Let's find out.

    The 16 Personality Factor (16PF) test is a tool used to measure personality, developed by Dr. Raymond Cattell, a British psychologist, in the 1940s. The purpose of this test is to identify 16 key factors that influence an individual's personality and help them better understand their traits, thoughts, and behaviors. This can also be applied in self-development, career guidance, and personnel selection.

    What are the 16 Personality Factors?

    The 16PF test divides personality into 16 main factors, which can represent individual traits as follows:

    • Warmth → The level of friendliness and empathy towards others

    • Reasoning → The level of analytical and reasoning ability

    • Emotional Stability → The ability to control emotions and stress

    • Dominance → The level of leadership or courage to control situations

    • Liveliness → The level of energy and sociability

    • Rule-Consciousness → The strictness towards rules and correctness

    • Social Boldness → The level of confidence and sociability

    • Sensitivity → The ability to perceive and understand one's own and others' emotions

    • Vigilance → The level of caution towards situations and people around

    • Abstractedness → Creativity and imagination

    • Privateness → The level of keeping secrets and privacy

    • Apprehension → The level of confidence and stress experienced

    • Openness to Change → The willingness to adapt and accept changes

    • Self-Reliance → The level of self-dependence and doing things independently

    • Perfectionism → The level of meticulousness and desire for everything to be perfect

    • Tension → The level of tension and ability to manage stress

    • 16PF: Developed by Raymond Cattell based on the theory of fundamental personality factors (Factor Analysis) using statistical research to identify 16 main personality factors

    • MBTI: Developed from the ideas of Carl Jung and expanded by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs based on the concept of personality types, which divides people into 16 types according to 4 main dimensions
