Career Pathway

There are billions of people in the world, but each of us is a unique version of ourselves. Yet, very often – whether intentionally or unintentionally – we compare ourselves to others, becoming disappointed, confused, and even insecure because we think we are "slower."
Many believe that simply following the path others have taken will lead to success. But they forget one crucial thing: each person's life operates on their own clock.
We can learn from the journeys of others, but we cannot – and should not – force ourselves to become a copy of anyone else.
With that message, the famous speaker Jay Shetty once delivered a speech that resonated with millions of young people worldwide. He reminded us that life is meant to be lived, not to be competed for.
Because life is short. If we spend most of our time chasing after other people's standards, we only tire ourselves out, exhaust ourselves, and become alienated from ourselves.
The desire for "quick success" and "quick riches" can easily lead us astray and cause us to lose our way – and sometimes, it drags us into unnecessary dark corners.
👉The truth is:
- Some people graduate at 21 but still haven't found a suitable job by 27.
- Some people graduate at 25 and immediately have a stable job.
- Some people didn't go to university but found their passion at 18.
- Some people have very high-paying jobs but are unhappy with their lives.
- Some people take a few years off before finding their life's purpose.
- Some people are very certain about their path at 16, but decide to change direction at 26.
- Some people have children but are still lonely, and some people get married and have to wait 8-10 years to have children.
Everything happens at its own pace. You might look around at your friends and think they're better than you, or see someone who seems to be falling behind.
But in reality, everyone is on their own path – and so are you. What you need isn't to rush, but to be patient.
History has proven that success doesn't have a standard age:
🌵 Mark Cuban was a bartender at 25.
🌵 J.K. Rowling published Harry Potter at 32 after being rejected by 12 publishers.
🌵 Richard Branson founded Virgin at 34.
🌵 Jack Ma started Alibaba at 35.
🌵 Amancio Ortega launched Zara at 39.
🌵 Steve Carell became famous after 40.
🌵Morgan Freeman only truly became widely known at the age of 52.
👉Graduating after 25 is still an achievement.
👉Being unmarried by 30 and still happy is perfectly normal.
👉Getting married after 34, buying a house after 40 – all are commendable. Don't let anyone rush you to live according to their timeline.
🌵As Albert Einstein once said: “Not everything that counts is valuable, and not everything valuable counts.”
