We're seeking an experienced Soft Goods Workshop Manager with a strong foundation in producing cushion covers, upholstered foam products, and assembling beanbags. This role calls for expertise in overseeing sewing operations and upholstery tasks, supervising a team, and driving continuous improvements in production. We want a hands-on, detail-oriented person who emphasizes quality, efficiency, and meeting delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the workshop relating to cushion covers, foam sofa upholstery, and beanbag manufacturing.
- Create production plans and organize the workflow between the cutting, sewing, upholstery, filling, and packing areas.
- Lead a team of sewers, upholsterers, and support personnel to ensure a smooth operation and high-quality output.
- Apply methods to optimize production for improved efficiency, reduced waste, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with design and technical teams for sample development and establishing sewing and upholstery standards.
- Check quality at all stages to ensure it meets customer specifications and our internal quality control benchmarks.
- Make sure materials like fabrics, zippers, foam, fiberfill, piping, Velcro, and labels are used correctly.
- Keep track of production, including output, defect rates, material usage, and team performance.
- Oversee basic machine upkeep and schedule maintenance to limit downtime.
- Provide workers with training on stitching, foam wrapping, cover fitting, and finishing techniques to enhance their skills.
- Ensure a safe and clean workshop environment and compliance with company policies.
