YouTube Video Editor

We’re hiring a long-form YouTube editor to become a core creative partner. Each episode is typically 15–40 minutes with a clear structure: theme + goal + loose script (most footages are unscripted). You’ll shape raw footage into a tight, entertaining story with strong pacing and satisfying payoffs.

This is a project-based collaboration to start. If it’s a great fit, we want to work together long-term.

What You’ll Do

• Edit 15–40 minute YouTube episodes (mainly unscripted, structured storytelling)

• Build strong pacing: cold open/hooks, momentum, comedy beats, setup → payoff, emotional turns

• Assemble selects, structure scenes, and tighten the narrative (not just “clean cuts”)

• Add music/SFX and basic sound polish to support story (without overpowering it)

• Do light graphics when needed (text, simple callouts, memes, etc.)

• Handle a notes process: First Cut → 1–2 rounds of revisions → Final polish

• Optional (if you’re interested): help refine outlines, joke beats, and story flow

• Strong storytelling instincts (rhythm, comedic timing, tension/release, setup & payoff)

• English fluency (able to understand and digest English-speaking content/culture)

• Comfortable taking feedback and iterating quickly

• Passion for YouTube long-form editing (you actually watch this kind of content)

• Heavy consumer of YouTube

• Familiar with YouTube storytelling styles similar to: HopeScope / Nick DiGiovanni / Ryan Trahan

• Can color-correct / do basic grading (final videos require color work)

Workflow & Footage Notes

• Most footage is non-LOG, shot on DJI & iPhone, with occasional Sony

• Typical edit cycle: 2–4 weeks per episode depending on complexity (1st Cut 1 Week, 2nd Cut 3-5 Days after notes, 3rd Cut 1-2 Days)
