Project Description:

This project focuses on implementing the EU's strategic communication and public diplomacy efforts in Myanmar, reflecting the EU's global communication approach.

The project aims to enhance the EU's visibility and support through innovative and flexible communication strategies. By showcasing the impact of EU programmes, the project seeks to build trust, foster networks, and improve the EU's perception among local and international stakeholders within Myanmar and in Europe, consolidating its position as a key supporter of the Myanmar people.

Scope of work:

The Public Relations Manager will act as a close collaborator to the Team Leader. She/he will have a key role in liaising with already existing networks and supporting their expansion, as well as in creating content and overseeing the development of outsourced content that is adapted to the Myanmar audience.

Qualifications and skills

• Master's Degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, International Relations, Development, or another related field;
• Or in the absence of a Master’s, an undergraduate degree in the above-mentioned disciplines, with an additional 3 years of relevant professional experience on top of the professional experience listed below;
• Or in the absence of an undergraduate and Master's degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines, at least 6 years of professional experience on top of the professional experience required below;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Burmese (C1 level).

General professional experience

• At least 3 years of experience in communication, public relations, event organisation, liaising with different stakeholders to build networks.

Specific professional experience

• At least 2 years of experience working on digital/ social media and online communications campaigns.
• At least 2 years of experience working for international organisations, international non governmental organisations, private sector, or Embassies, as an employee, implementing partner or service provider.
• At least 3 years of experience in social media management in crisis-contexts, media outreach and monitoring and developing conflict-sensitive content and communication strategies, including post-Coup Myanmar.

Professional experience of the following types will be taken into account positively:

• Project management under EU procedures, and knowledge of EU visibility requirements;
• Work experience in other South East Asian countries.
