PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Responsible for sourcing and acquiring materials necessary to fulfill master production schedules. Collaborate with planning, engineering, IQC (Incoming Quality Control), and program management teams to align purchasing activities with customer demands, inventory optimization, product quality standards, and cost efficiency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate and release purchase orders to suppliers, taking into account lead times, MOQ/SPQ (Minimum Order Quantity/Standard Pack Quantity), and system-generated demand on a weekly basis.
- Develop supplier delivery schedules and proactively monitor on-time delivery to prevent material shortages in the production line.
- Oversee supplier manufacturing lead times, processes, capabilities, and raw materials, while identifying potential risks and proposing solutions in advance.
- Manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock and minimize excess materials in the event of order cancellations.
- Prepare monthly reports on Excess & Obsolete (E&O) materials, including recommended actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement actions for clearing E&O inventory.
- Manage Engineer Change Orders (ECOs) to phase out old stock and introduce new items smoothly.
- Confirm schedules based on customer requests (new orders (MR - Material Request)/Pull-push/Cancel/Swap POs).
- Analyze material expediting options and recommend solutions.
- Analyze material lead times and propose advanced procurement of long-lead-time items with customer approval.
- Serve as a primary contact for addressing quality, delivery, and other material-related issues with suppliers for assigned projects.
- Monitor and enhance supplier performance (on-time delivery) to support business growth.
- Take necessary actions (postpone, cancel) based on weekly ERP system messages to minimize excess raw material inventory for assigned projects.
- Be accountable for achieving targeted material cost savings for assigned projects.
- Develop Cost Bills of Material (CBOMs) for current and new projects.
- Participate in other activities as required.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
