Ensures the implementation of the hotel’s Marketing Communications Strategy (goals, tactics and actions) to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures in Rooms, Food and Beverage, and all other revenue-generating departments.
Ensures that all Marketing Communications employees provide excellent service to both external and internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Establishes annual marketing communications budgets, including above the line advertising, public relations, sales promotions and publicity that will form part of the hotel’s business plan.
Maintains complete records of all media and purchase agreements, contracts and quotes for the hotel.
Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information
Ensures a high level of exposure for Hotel through direct sales solicitation, telephone contacts and written communications.
Conducts extensive competitor research and maintains excellent Product Knowledge of the Hotel.
Fosters outstanding relationship with the press and maximize the hotel exposure, journalists, editors and proprietors of media should be entertained on a weekly basis, not just on special occasions.
Establishes and maintains good relationship with media
Prepares and updates the hotel’s press kits.
Supervises the internal arrangements for photojournalists and media on assignment at the hotel.
Answers to all press inquiries, ensuring only relevant and accurate information have been released to the press.
Coordinates and handles all media accommodation requests.
Assists the Food and Beverage and Rooms on collateral requirements and that they comply with HI’s Brand Standards i.e. Food and Beverage newsletters, promotional flyers and posters, photography of food and festive shots etc.
Proofreads all collateral when required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
A social media guru! You'll know how to influence, engage and attract
Understands digital marketing and works in conjunction with the Digital Marketing team
University qualifications in Business, Hospitality or Sales and Marketing
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a 4-5-star hotel or, in a similar fast-paced industry
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into profitable action
An engaged and results driven achiever with strong influencing skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
Highly motivated, solutions-orientated self-starter with adaptable teamwork styles
Strong background in public relations and online marketing management
Strategic orientation with the know how to problem solve under pressure
