This role takes charge of management and governance of local business network which cover the operation and support services of around 350 general agency offices (GA) nationwide including:
As a GA Governance Senior Manager, you will be tasked with developing and implementing policies that govern GA behavior, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and promoting a culture that prioritizes integrity and accountability.
Will be working closely with various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, internal compliance teams, and insurance GA themselves, to foster a thorough understanding of governance protocols and facilitate training programs that elevate the standards of PVA agency practices.
Ensure the budget spent wisely, effectively, and efficiently across GA network that meet PVA requirement and direction.
Job Responsibilities
Role of GA Growth Governance is accountable and responsible for:
Support and recommend with Head of GA Growth in developing and leading the oversight of operational governance framework for GA network to ensure the GA operations quality aligned with PVA and Group standard.
Maintain and develop standards of GA operations ensuring an appropriate risk based approach is adopted for controls, checks and balances, and GA records are well maintained to a good and proper standard.
Conduct regular reviews of appropriate MI to make recommendations on how the information can be used to identify and mitigate potential risks and make sound business decisions at Senior Management level summary and appropriated proposal to senior management level for sound business decision(s)
Takes ownership of any ongoing mitigating actions that are required to ensure that GA is operating within the required standards.
Work with regulatory compliance function to analyze and review the regulatory and legislative change for policy and procedures update where relevant
Provide frequent education to GA network on overall GA governance framework and process, and its implication to raise the awareness to ensure compliance to changes and minimize exposure to risk.
GA Audit Management:
Develop and lead an appropriate procedure to manage the preparation, review and checking of audits and ownership of respective action plans, ensuring compliance with deadlines and appropriate documentation is available to the Senior Management team to evidence that actions have been taken and integrated into the GA daily operations.
To check, review and asset audit reports from GA Management team with relevant topics such as GA opening, closing, transferring, maintenance, facilities, operating, cash transaction and vault controls through out the year with aligned with PVA and Group standards
Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement corrective action plans based on audit outcomes
GA operations management:
Develop, maintain and update GA operating rhythms that aligned with PVA business strategy.
Actively participate, lead and drive the policies and procedures of GA operations from end-to-end cycle (expansion to termination process) to ensure the appropriate operations and governance aspects are well reflected, as well as the check and review controls are defined and designed accordingly.
Work closely with Agency Distribution in designing and implementing sales initiatives
Support other function in engaging GA network (GAD and staff) in building Prudential’s reputation & business success through various activities in terms of customer services and agency support.
Provide support to GA network in developing financial plans (P&L), risk & people management.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to GA networks
Financial Management
Manage and monitor financial process and procedures (budgeting, forecasting) for all expenses spent for GA support-related activities (i.e Local Corporate Social Responsibilities, GA workshops and events).
Join-hand with Agency Distribution in developing financial planning to support GA network in revenue growth and sustainable success with PVA.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic initiatives from PVA and Group
Evaluate and implement effective financial controls to mitigate risks.
Facilitate regular financial reviews to support Head of GA Growth and Senior Management
People management
Provide training/ coaching to all direct reports in technical matters as well as managing people skills.
Develop subordinates and build talents for key roles and succession planning.
Relationship management
Wherever and whenever is required, backing up for Head of GA Growth in any event of develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with GA directors, agency forces, customers, partners, and local authorities
Develop a wide range of relationships and networks within Operations & other departments that support for initiatives implementation or advice quality to GAD/GA staff
Others: to be assigned by the Line manager or Company’s management (if any).
Job Accountabilities:
Ensuring that GA business is operated and governed in a standard and updated framework that complies with PVA and Group requirement, government/local authorities’ requirement.
Ensuring that GA Audit exercises are completed on a frequent basis within the expected timeline and all GA transactions and operations are processed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, contractual terms, guidelines and delegated authority.
Identifying remedial actions from Audit findings and follow up with respective stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.
Ensuring that there is adequate and sufficient involvement, guidance and support in collaboration with Agency Distribution to GA network development.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of bachelor degree with more than 10 years .
Insurance distribution governance or Risk and Compliance experiences would be an advantage.
Knowledge and skill:
Excellent knowledge of distribution and franchise model in Vietnam
Good understanding of Insurance and Vietnam market
Passion for change and continual improvement and ability to effectively lead/drive change
Demonstrated ability in balancing business risk vis a vis efficiency and upholding standard of partner’s operations.
Strong knowledge of the principles Life & health insurance, risk and governance
Versatile, self -motivated, persistent and action oriented
Ability to work strategically and collaboratively with internal and external partners
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
The ability to travel is essential for this role, as it may require visiting different locations within the territory to conduct meetings, training sessions, or inspections
