Senior Permit Officer

Job Description

1. Permit Management

• Manage the end-to-end permitting process for solar energy projects, including land use, environmental, construction, and operational permits.

• Identify all required permits and approvals for each project phase, ensuring timely submission and acquisition.

• Prepare and submit permit applications, including supporting documents, drawings, and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.

2. Regulatory Liaison & Compliance

• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and utility companies.

• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

• Monitor project activities for compliance with issued permits and escalate non-compliance issues to management.

3. Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and legal teams to align project activities with permitting requirements.

• Coordinate with landowners, community representatives, and local authorities to address concerns and facilitate approvals.

• Represent the company in public hearings, community meetings, or regulatory discussions when required.

4. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare regular reports on permitting progress and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Administration, Engineering, Law, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or project management, preferably in renewable energy or construction industries.

• Demonstrated experience with large-scale solar EPC projects is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and zoning laws related to renewable energy projects.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Proficiency in permit tracking systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and legal documents.

• Certification in Environmental Management, Project Management (e.g., PMP), or related fields is a plus.
