1. Generate and deliver timely, high-quality, market-leading research
- Collaborate with macro team members, sales, equity analysts and related parties to produce valuable macroeconomic research and new sector ideas, also assess the impact on related stocks by:
- Identifying and acting on emerging macro or sector trends
- Producing detailed macro reports for in-depth analysis
- Creating macro alerts, updates, etc.
- Developing strong, coherent, and commercially viable perspectives
- Directly pitching ideas to clients and sales teams
- Consistently following up on significant macro and policy events, including:
- Regularly updating macro notes, in-depth research, and alerts
- Providing recommendations related to sectors or stocks
- Ensuring models and data are current
- Maintaining dialogue with policy makers
- Staying informed on monthly trade, FDI, and CPI results
- Analyzing reported data and providing three-year economic data forecasts
2. Engage effectively with the client base
- Direct client interaction
- Handling direct research requests from clients
- Responding to indirect client requests through sales channels
- Conducting company visits with clients to provide macro context
- Delivering presentations to clients in their offices or online
- Presenting keynote speeches at HSC conferences and other client-requested events
- Moderating sessions at HSC and client conferences
3. Cultivate productive business relationships with all clients, internally and externally
- Research is responsible for delivering current and commercially viable research concepts to our sales team in the Institutional Client Division to facilitate brokerage
- Collaborate with the Corporate Finance Division to:
- Offer leads
- Offer insights into potential deal structures through macro, top-down, or bottom-up analysis
- Offer an independent sector assessment, when appropriate
- Publish independent research, as necessary, for sectors related to potential IPOs
- Work with the retail platform by delivering and translating research in a timely fashion and all reasonable requests are met.
