Master in Data Science
Course Overview
The Master’s in Data Science is a research-oriented, interdisciplinary program jointly offered by Harvard’s Computer Science and Statistics departments. Students complete 12 graduate-level courses over a minimum of three semesters (1.5 years full-time), with an optional fourth semester for extra coursework or thesis work. The curriculum covers statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization, big data management, computing, and ethics, with a capstone project that emphasizes reproducible, collaborative data analysis.
