Course Overview

This is a research-intensive M.Sc. (Thesis) program offered through McGill’s Institute of Parasitology (Faculty of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences). Designed for full-time study over approximately 18 months, it focuses on hands-on research and minimal coursework. Students conduct advanced laboratory and field investigations into parasitic organisms and their interactions with hosts, leveraging modern facilities and expertise in molecular parasitology, bioinformatics, drug targets, immunology, and epidemiology.

What You'll Learn
    • Advanced technical skills: Proficiency in molecular biology, proteomics, genetic manipulation, bioinformatics, data analysis, drug resistance, and host–parasite immunology.

    • Research training: Develop critical thinking, research methods, data management, and thesis-writing capabilities through a major independent research project.

    • Exposure to modern facilities: Access McGill’s cutting-edge labs, confocal suite, and affiliation with the J.D. MacLean Centre for Tropical Diseases.
