ประพลเคยประสบวิกฤติทางธุรกิจครั้งใหญ่เมื่อลงทุนในหุ้นกู้ของรัฐวิสาหกิจ (การบินไทย) ด้วยความเชื่อมั่นในเครดิตและความปลอดภัย แต่ผลกลับไม่เป็นไปตามคาด เงินทุนกว่า 400 ล้านบาทสูญหาย ธุรกิจจึงอยู่ในภาวะล้มละลายและถูกคณะกรรมการกำกับหลักทรัพย์ (ก.ล.ต.) สั่งให้แก้ปัญหาภายใน 7 วัน ด้วยความร่วมมือของครอบครัว เพื่อน และพันธมิตร ทำให้สามารถระดมทุนได้และกอบกู้ธุรกิจกลับมาได้สำเร็จ
วินัยและการบริหารการเงิน: ธุรกิจ SME หรือ Startup ต้องมีวินัยในเรื่องการจัดการรายได้และการเสียภาษี อย่าหลงระเริงใช้จ่ายเกินตัว หรือกระจายการลงทุนเร็วเกินไปจนสูญเสียโฟกัส
