Production Planning Specialist

ABOUT THIS POSITION

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing detailed production schedules to ensure timely delivery and meet customer demands.

You will also balance machine capacity, personnel, and material resources to maximize production efficiency.

Your participation in weekly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings will be vital for understanding order demand, calculating capacity, and coordinating material flow from the central warehouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Planning

- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules derived from the master plan and customer orders.

- Confirm the availability of resources, including materials, labor, and equipment, for each production order.

- Adapt and modify production schedules in response to changes requested by customers or arising from manufacturing issues.

Production Monitoring & Control

- Carefully monitor actual production progress across all stages, including kitting, printing, and cutting.

- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues impacting production schedules.

- Report on production progress, identify root causes of delays, and recommend corrective actions.

S&OP Engagement

- Attend weekly S&OP meetings to remain informed about customer forecasts and new orders.

- Calculate and evaluate production capacity to ensure resource equilibrium and identify any capacity shortfalls.

- Partner with the warehouse team to guarantee the prompt and adequate supply of materials from the central warehouse for production.

Data Analysis and Reporting

- Employ Google Sheets extensively to process, analyze, and consolidate production, capacity, and material data.

- Design, maintain, and update dashboards using Google Data Studio / Looker Studio to visualize key production metrics, capacity utilization, on-time in-full (OTIF) performance, and material status.

- Generate analytical reports and actionable insights to support process improvements in production planning and control.
