To be the main technical contact for purchasing, project managers, and design teams regarding alternative, low-cost, high-quality components. Monitor and resolve component issues directly with manufacturers, and communicate the status of non-conforming parts/suppliers across all programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support Design Engineering, Project Management, and Purchasing in identifying, sourcing, and implementing new/alternative components that offer equal or greater performance without compromising quality, while achieving total cost savings.

· Serve as the primary contact for all quality and functional issues stemming from components purchased for manufacturing.

· Develop, implement, and maintain a “Component Data Module” that enables system users to identify similar components used on other programs with their authorized manufacturers, standardize description entries for each commodity, and ensure data integrity.

· Monitor and drive PPM (Parts Per Million) issues with the supply base, and assist them in achieving “Dock to Stock” certification with Jabil (in accordance with the vendor performance system).

· Drive supplier selection strategies to establish a supply base that can be used across all customer programs, providing leverage for cost savings.

· Proactively communicate information or issues that may impact product costs or manufacturability to all affected departments.

· Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.

· Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

· May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
