Business Analyst (6-Month Contract via Third Party)

In this role, as a member of the Global Student System Support Team, the Business Analyst will partner with business and technical stakeholders to define project scope and requirements. You will identify and document business processes, and contribute to the functional design of solutions that align with business needs. Taking a proactive approach from project inception to completion, you will collaborate closely with architects, developers, and testers to ensure the delivered solution effectively meets business requirements. You will become a subject matter expert in your assigned business area and provide consultative advice to stakeholders as needed. Reports to: Project Manager, ITS Project Key Responsibilities: - Identify and manage project stakeholders, understand their interests, and ensure that impacted stakeholders have a shared understanding of new features or changes introduced by the solution. - Define the project scope and high-level requirements to inform inception phase activities, such as business case development. - Engage with stakeholders to understand user context and support follow-up IT inquiries. - Guide business functions within RMIT VN to adhere to RMIT IT policies and strategies. - Gather, analyze, and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring clear communication and understanding among stakeholders and project team members. - Gather, analyze, and document functional specifications, including use cases, user interface designs, and data attributes, as needed. - Gather, analyze, and document features, epics, and user stories. - Define, analyze, and document current and future state business processes using industry standards such as BPMN. Identify opportunities for process efficiency and improvements, and incorporate these into the solution's functional design to help achieve business goals. - Ensure requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining accurate records of business analysis artifacts. - Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders and conduct walkthroughs with project team members. - Support architecture, development, and testing teams by providing requirements clarification throughout the project lifecycle. Support the project team in tasks and deliverables related to business analysis, such as analysis estimates, release planning, or iteration planning. - Stay informed of BA developments and industry trends and actively share knowledge with other Business Analysts.
